Renato Bornigia was like a second father figure to my Dad. He carried him on his shoulders and played with him when Dad was very young.
Renato was married to zia Teresina my Dad’s aunt. Zia Teresina was nonno Sisto’s sister.
As a young man Renato became the head of the youth soccer league for the region of Lazio.
He was also a successful entrepreneur and the owner of the Mercedes Benz franchise in Rome during the 1960’s.
My Dad use to say that Renato was the best salesperson he had ever met.
I attended his funeral in Rome and there were quite a few present, a sign my dad use to say, that he was well liked because he had helped many people during his life time.
From personal experience I can say that he had a very lively personality and was quite intent in his pursuits.
